In December 2023, László Gőz was awarded the Prima Primissima prize in the category of Hungarian folk art and public culture. He received the award on 1 December at the ceremony held at Müpa Budapest.

László Gőz, trombonist, founder and director of the Budapest Music Center, taught at the jazz department of the Liszt Academy for 33 years. He was a founding member of the contemporary music ensemble 180-as Csoport. As a jazz musician he has given hundreds of concerts with numerous bands around the world, and has contributed to nearly 1000 recordings as a studio musician.

In 1996, he founded the BMC Hungarian Music Information Center, a free and internationally available database of Hungarian music and artists, which currently contains information on nearly 5,000 classical and jazz musicians, composers and ensembles, and 32,000 contemporary compositions. BMC Records has also been operating since 1996, with a catalogue of 350 albums to date, including Midem, Jazzman and Gramophone award-winning releases, and an annual addition of 15-20 records. László Gőz opened the building of Budapest Music Center in 2013, which houses a free music library, a chamber concert hall, the Opus Jazz Club, several recording and video studios, and the Peter Eötvös Contemporary Music Foundation. Over the past 10 years, the building has hosted nearly 4,000 concerts open for the general public.

László Gőz was awarded the Hungarian Republican Gold Cross of Merit in 2003. In 2008 he was awarded the Knight Degree of the Order of French Art and Literature by the French Republic. In 2015, he was awarded the Knight's Cross of the Order of Merit of the Republic of Poland and the Knight's Cross of the Order of Merit of Hungary for his work in establishing and running a music centre that enriches universal Hungarian culture, unique in its architecture and programmes.
