The Egri & Pertis Piano Duo's concert series, Crosstalks showcases the interplay of the arts. The first evening of the fourth season is centered on theatre. From Purcell to Prokofiev, there are countless composers who have been captivated by the world of the theatre, but with a few exceptions, this fascination has not manifested in acting itself, but in the musical interpretation of various dramas and plays. What can music without words add to works built on the power of words? Do we need a sense of rhythm for acting, and do we need an actor's skills on the concert stage? How much freedom of interpretation does the actor has in a play, and how much do musicians have when interpreting a piece? These are the questions the concert programme seeks to answer through works by Mendelssohn, Balakirev and Grieg. The duo will discuss the secrets of acting with an artist guest. The host will once again be the popular editor and presenter of Bartók Radio, Szilvia Becze.
The concert series is supported by OTP Bank.
