While it chiefly draws on Western classical music, the Markus Stockhausen Group also embraces avant-garde and jazz – generally speaking, the culture of improvisation. At BMC, the Markus Stockhausen Group will perform with jazz pianist Franz von Chossy. Wrote a reviewer of the style of the artist who is at home in a multitude of musical worlds and is also active as a composer: ‘A superb mix of musical genres ranging from modern classical music to jazz which at times surprises with a tiny note of Eastern European folklore’ – all of which promises an ideal partner for Stockhausen. This concert of the Liszt Fest is presented by Müpa Budapest as a joint event with the Budapest Music Center.
