Sámuel Baló and his orchestra have already appeared at Opus Jazz Club multiple times. They have performed as a trio, and on other occasions they have performed with their foreign musician friends in a septet, or Mihály Dresch has joined the band. This time, however, they come in an even more special line-up, inviting Péter Ajtai on bass.

This evening will mainly feature Sámuel Baló's own compositions, inspired by impressions, moods, experiences and memories. The compositions often draw from the world of modal jazz and folk music, leaving a lot of space and freedom for improvisation and musical communication between the members, so that each time they sound a little different, with a different colouring and a renewed freshness. The presence of two bass players allows for a freer, less accompaniment-like bass playing and opens the way for exciting bass duos. With Peter Ajtai's contribution, not only will the polyphony be richer, but a rhythmically denser fabric can be created – just as the music demands.
